A caring garage boss has been rescuing motorists stranded in flood water in a fire engine he owns. Charles Fryer, 47, owns Fryers Garage, in Main Street, Scropton, and when it rains roads are often under water and unsuspecting motorists get struck. Mr Fryer owns the white fire engine which he uses to tow cars to safety in the extreme flooding. Nearby Scropton Lane in the village is often flooded when it rains, including today, Friday, November 8, and is regular spot where Mr Fryer and his fire engine pull people to safety . Scropton Lane was closed today due to flooding. He takes them back to his garage where he sorts their cars if he can. His mum also helps out by giving the sodden drivers dry clothes and cups of tea to warm them up.
