(Photo courtesy Twitter user Anita Ramsaran) Update December 11, 2019, 12.44 pm: The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has issued a Riverine Flooding Alert – Yellow Level , after heavy rains on Wednesday morning led to reports of flooding in parts of central and south Trinidad. The Yellow Level alert was issued from Wednesday at 12.00 pm to Thursday at 2.00 pm . According to reports received Wednesday afternoon, several rivers including the Guapo River, South Oropouche River and Moruga River had breached their banks, while the Cipero and Guaracara Rivers remained close to threshold limits. Video footage showed some roads inundated with floodwaters and rivers with high water levels. Residents along Clarke Road, Penal and Rock Road, Penal, reportedly experienced flooding as well as residents in parts of Barrackpore. The TTPS said flooding was reported in Siparia, Erin Road in the vicinity of Powergen, Siparia, Lowkie Trace and Batchiya Village, Penal.
