Galloway Park and Mississippi Point Park will be closed until further notice due to the Mississippi River overflowing its banks. The city said the path that runs under Highway 169 near the intersection with West River Road is also closed. The National Weather Service on Monday issued a flood warning for the Mississippi River at Highway 169 in Champlin, citing ice jamming as the reason for rising river levels. City of Champlin As of 8:30 a.m., the river level was at 13 feet, according to the NWS, which is one foot above the flood stage. The NWS said it expects the river to gradually fall unless an ice jam breaks and causes a more drastic fall in the water level. The flooding was most impactful at the Riverview Estates apartment complex, where the parking lot that boarders the river was submerged in partially-frozen river water.
