Parks Creek in North Bay. Nugget File Photo pj wilson / jpg, NB The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has issued a flood outlook for the North Bay district until Tuesday. A flood outlook is a watershed conditions statement which gives early notice of potential flooding based on weather forecasts calling for heavy rain, snow melt, high winds or other conditions. Area residents are asked to exercise special caution around rivers and streams. Expected warm temperatures and heavy precipitation are likely to increase melting and degrade snowpack and river ice, resulting in runoff and increased levels and flows. “The ministry is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions,” the ministry said in a notice Thursday. “Further updates will be issued as appropriate.” Beginning Saturday, a Colorado low will bring widespread rainfall to northeastern Ontario. Rainfall amounts of up to 20 millimetres or more are expected both Saturday and Sunday, with the two-day total reaching 40-45 mm in the southern reaches of the North Bay district.
