Installation Safety Process

A disciplined process from utility locates through final walkthrough — every job, every time.
Pre-Installation
Alberta One-Call utility locates, full site walkthrough, hazard assessment with the property owner, and documented bollard layout, spacing, and traffic-control plan before crew mobilizes.
During Installation
Hydrovac excavation when required, ticketed-operator equipment, mandatory PPE on every person — hi-vis, hard hat, gloves, steel toe — and designated spotters in active properties.
Post-Installation
Site cleanup, final inspection for vertical alignment, footing depth, and stability, plus a pedestrian and vehicle safety walk-through before the site reopens.

Hydrovac Excavation
When digging near buried utilities or sensitive infrastructure, we use hydrovac trucks to safely cut clean cylindrical holes without striking lines. It's slower than augering — and it eliminates the most catastrophic accident on bollard jobs.
Concrete Setting & Reinforcement
Each bollard is set in a concrete footing sized for its application — typically 42–48 inches deep below Alberta's frost line. Concrete is mixed and placed to spec, with proper cure time before the site re-opens.
Durable Materials
Schedule-40 steel pipe (4–10" OD), powder-coated for Alberta weather, with footing depths designed for our frost cycle. We don't reuse old bollards. Every install starts with new material.
